This was supposed to be an Olympic year, but not anymore. 4 years of hard work and preparation is extended for another year (Jul 23 - Aug 8 2021) but it’s understandable.
Usually around this time, I would be overseas (typically China lah 😅) preparing for Diving World Cup, the last major competition before the Olympics, and all I could think of is the Olympic dream.
Since the situation has changed, I do feel stressed as my future plans have been disrupted. I empathize with many athletes’ concern who have made it this far just like me, having to prepare longer, worrying that it might affect our mental and physical state. But on the other hand, I’m glad as health and safety are equally important for athletes, it’s also a good opportunity for us to improve on what’s lacking.
All I can advice to you is to live in the present, worry not about the things we can’t control, be kind, take good care of yourself, and pray for the world 🌍
